New bridge in Makurdi, Benue State was hit by a heavy explosion


New bridge in Makurdi, Benue State was hit by a heavy
explosion at about 3pm yesterday 17th of June following a
collision between a tanker and carrying petrol and a Peugeout
406 vehicle. The explosion caused tension in the area because
that was the bridge that links Northern part of Nigeria to the
southern part
An eye-witness confirmed that the blast was vehicles
accident, lamented over horrible gridlock and possible
casualties.
Security operatives had to divert traffic from the ever-busy
new bridge to the old bridge, Northbank, Makurdi. The
information on the number of victims was not available at the
time of filing the present report.
The affected bridge is crucial in linking travelers across the
River Benue.
